Salt spray chamber test on different cages

This process leads to a gradual deterioration of the material subject to oxidation and to the loss of its characteristics (this can be easily seen in all those cases in which a metal surface rusts).

These tests allow to know the level of resistance to corrosion of the materials or coatings and therefore to verify whether the material needs a surface coating or to understand whether the procedure used to apply the coating is compliant or not.

At the end of the process, the quality of the painting is evaluated by looking at the surface defects after the sample remains in a salt spray chamber.

The sample, depending on the type of painting, where it will be used and under what conditions, is subjected to an accelerated salt spray corrosion cycle that can last a few hours or even months, and in the end, it must have aesthetic defects that do not exceed certain levels, if not, the whole painting process must be reprogrammed until the sample is compliant.

The compliance of the coatings can also be tested with the grid test.
